I have a LG Front Load Washer that is about 7 years old. I just recently replaced the drain pump. My wife indicated the clothes smell a bit mustier than in the past. One on occasion, she said there was standing water (no error codes). The filter is clean - no clogs there. Over the last loads I have drained all the water using the small hose adjacent to the filter at the base of the unit. Typically it will release 1-2 quarts of water.

Is it normal for there always to be some water (i.e. 1-2 quarts)? Or if draining properly should there be next to nothing?

The unit is hard to access as it is contained in a built-in. Thought I would ask if this was a standard amount of water before pulling out and checking for a kink.

Thanks,
Mark.

That seems to be a little too much.

Yes, I'd check for kinks. Also when it drains pull the drain hose up from the standpipe and watch how fast the water drains out, it should drain out very fast with lots of water pressure out.

Sounds good Mark, glad you found the problem.(y)

Here's the drain pump for your model, in case others need it too:
