LG LFC21776 Refrigerator Still getting Error ER FF despite replacing logic board and freezer fan

My refrigerator is cooling but not very well and my freezer seems like it is barely at freezing temperature. Seems like the refrigerator is around 40 degrees and the freezer is 32, despite being set at 36 and 0. The freezer will still make ice, but can't keep food frozen.

I'm not sure what is next to look at.

Things I've done/confirmed:

• Compressor runs, it's warm and I can feel it vibrating
• Compressor fan runs when put into test mode, I can feel air coming through the freezer and refrigerator
• All fans seem to be running
• Dust is clear from the intake and fans

What else should I be looking at or testing?

Hi,

Take a photo of your freezer evaporator coil and post it here, you possibly have a sealed system problem, because the freezer should be a 0 to 5 degrees F at all times.

Thanks for your reply. While I do not have a picture of the freezer evaporator coil when I replaced the freezer fan it was completely clear of ice. I did just replace the compressor capacitor to see if that does the trick. I was able to confirm with a multimeter that the compressor is good, so my next thought is that it might be possible that there is a freon leak somewhere and the compressor is low perhaps.


Based on some readings I think my freezer is around 14-20 degrees F.

Yes, then you have a sealed system problem.

The sealed system consists of the compressor, condenser, evaporator, heat exchanger, filter/drier and refrigerant. Common problems with a sealed system are bad compressors, refrigerant leaks, and system restrictions.
