I have a LG LFXS30766D with the Spaceplus Slim in door icemaker. Suddenly when the ice maker fills it is leaking water down the door into the fridge. The icemaker container had a block of ice all around it. The ice bucket is freezing in place. It is making ice just fine.

I cycled the unit while I watched using the test button. It doesn't seem to be spraying everywhere. It seems to just dispense enough water to fill the tray but then it drips out the bottom.

Several other people have reported this issue but the solution doesn't seem to be consistent. One person believed their water nozzle had mineral deposits and just scraped it out with a paperclip. Other folks seem to have had luck extending the nozzle with a little bit of tubing.

I took the entire icemaker out and there seems to be water behind it as well. When i manually put water into the tray, it doesn't seem to leak. I'm stumped.

Help!

I've not seen this problem before or I could help you fix it.

Hopefully another tech or member that's seen this problem and fixed it can shed some light on this issue.

The EXACT same thing has been happening to me for a couple of weeks, and I agree that the fix offered by the majority of people re: the paperclip doesn't seem to be useable for this situation...if the water was spraying "all over" then I'd expect some freezing on surfaces near the nozzle.

My freezing pattern is just like yours, including down inside the opening where the electric connection is made. I'm wondering if the supply line is leaking somewhere inside of the door body between the valve that open to allow it to flow and the nozzle. This would explain both water higher up inside the door being frozen and the layers that accumulate down low in the icemaker compartment. But I DO NOT want to tear the door apart to find out.

I've seen no freezing high up in the compartment except a very small amount near the nozzle. After that, the highest was at the opening for the wiring harness mostly at its lower border, then a small glaze down the back of the whole assembly that you pull out, and a huge accumulation around the motor and then coming out from under the bottom of whole icemaker assembly (at the bottom of the icemaker door).

I did vinegar on the nozzle that took a little scale off but didn't really help, and the amount of ice/water in the wrong spots has greatly increased over the past several days. If anyone has the guts to take the whole door apart, take pics and post your results on here!

Any update Guys or feedback? Started 2 weeks ago. I have not tried bending the outlet or extending it. Using a water softer and reverse osmosis so no build up detected. The lock mechanism prevents me from looking at the process but if there is a trick please share. Next tool used will be a hammer..lol
