LG Refrigerator LMXS30776S/01 has Broken orange cable on left hinge, no water to icemaker

Icemaker wasn't getting water, noted secondary solenoid for icemaker is not getting any voltage (coil is intact with 300 something ohms resistance). Upon inspecting the hinge, the orange wire is snapped off. Where does this wire terminate? I am assuming it goes to the sub pcb relay circuit (the pcb ontop of the door)? I saw in this board that replacing the door is the fix, but that seems too much for a broken wire.

Newer refrigerator doors are not designed to be taken apart... which would usually be necessary to get to the wiring to repair it. You can read what one person did in a similar case in this previous forum message:

I might try fishing a new wire in, but do you know where this orange wire terminates? It looks like it goes to the display panel, but I'm not sure.
