I'm not sure if this is important or not, but it seems like shortly before the ice maker stopped working, we had the power go out several times at our house. Not sure if any electronic components may have been damaged when the power came back on.
Anyway, for the past 2-3 weeks, our ice maker has not been producing ice at all. I have tried the following steps:
1) Unplug and replug the refrigerator and wait at least 48 hours.
2) Make sure that the freezer temperature is cold enough to produce ice (currently set at -4 F).
3) Use an ohm meter to check that the water valves at the back of the fridge are electrically intact (both the valve for the water dispenser and the valve for the ice maker water supply).
4) Push the Reset button on the ice maker, confirm ice maker arm movement (i.e. it DOES have power going to it), and wait at least 48 hours.
Of note, our water dispenser does work correctly, so there is not a problem with inflow at the main valve or a problem with the filter.
I ran a diagnostic test using the LG ThinQ app, and I received the following report: The unit detected "The ice storage bucket in the maker is full of ice." This is even when the bucket is completely empty. I am assuming that is why it is not trying to fill the ice maker - it thinks it's already full. I believe I have a physical (as opposed to optic) ice sensor, so I'm not really sure what exactly I can do to "clear" this error message. It says you can clean the ice maker assembly and bucket, which I suppose means removing the assembly and - what - gently washing it with warm water? If that doesn't work, I will just try replacing the entire assembly.

I don't mind replacing it, I just wanted to make sure it looked like I had exhausted all the other basic steps first and wasn't missing something easy.

LG AEQ73130002 Ice Maker Assembly (AP5959515) - AppliancePartsPros.com
This is an ice maker assembly for refrigerators. This part creates ice cubes that are placed in the storage bucket or used when dispensing ice to a user. When damaged, this part may leak water, run but make less ice, make noise, or not run at all.In any of these situations, the ice maker...
