Hi everybody,

Even though I believe this particular model of washer is not sold in the US, someone can hopefully bring light to the cause of my problem.

This is what I just did on the washer:
  • Changed the tub spider p/n: 4434ER0002H (genuine part provided by LG DIRECT)
  • Changed front AND rear bearing (best installation practices were used not to damage the bearings during insertion) – both bearings changed twice thinking it was the cause of the root cause
  • Replaced the gasket seal
  • Replaced tub seal
SOME PICTURES OF THE END RESULT CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://img.gg/cm9Te5u

Note: The motor rotor is not rubbing against the stator and the magnets are free from any debris

When the tub agitates both clockwise and counterclockwise, the is a squealing noise definitely coming from the rear of the tub. The noise seems to come from the gasket seal rubbing too close against the tub (this is “my” guesstimate).

Other than that, the machine completes its cleaning cycle normally.

Manual agitation:

Motor driven agitation:

Highest speed-drum spin:

Once discovered, I took out the tub/motor from the washer and removed the front part of the tub, just leaving the motor and the rear part of the tub together. The noise is still present. This confirms without any doubt that the noise does not come from the tub rubbing against the door boot gasket.

I am questioning if the wrong part could have been sent to me or if there would be a washer/spacer missing between the spider shaft seat and the front bearing.

LG are carrying two part number for the spider 4434ER0002H & 4434ER0002D, both technically interchangeable but the latter apparently being the oldest revision.

Would anyone have a clue about this problem, please?

Thank you.
