• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

    ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

    Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
    ...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

I have an LG Smart Inverter microwave that shuts off a few seconds after it turns on. Power still there just turns off. I unscrewed the top cover and found that rust colored damage underneath which coincidentally is over the vent.

2nd photo is behind the panel. One plug(white one) looks like something should be plugged in but have no idea where that is, if indeed that is the case.

Any speculation or idea as to why this is happening will be greatly appreciated. If you actually know the problem, leave your email and ill send you a giftcard for a lunch.
