FIXED LMX25981ST Fridge has a burnt smell and won't cool.

9 year old LG. Started having a burned odor last night. (wife says it's a chemical smell) Won't cool beyong 45 degrees. Is it the fans or is it something else?

Hi,

Its possibly a freon leak since you also mentioned it wasn't cooling properly anymore.

Is the freezer section starting to warm up too?

LG Issues

The freezer is just fine. We are replacing the evaporator fan to see if that is the issue. Really hoping it is. Because as much as I want a new Fridge, it's not in the budget.

Ok, Yes, I don't run into many that have that burnt motor smell when they go out, usually they just go out and that's it.:)
