I'm looking for a part for an older washing machine. The knob to start the washer is getting extremely difficult to pull out.

From what I can see, it appears to be part of the timer assembly. When looking up the model number on Sears, it shows that the part is no longer available.

The part number is 5303271771

Anyone have any suggestions?

Its No Longer Available at all the part sites I checked as well.

Don't know what to suggest except to buy a new washer.

The washer still works fine; even the timer. The problem is that the knob to start the washer is difficult to pull out. The owner is elderly and cannot afford a new washer.
