I am working on an lg refrigerator that the water line coming up through the door that feeds the icemaker is freezing. I keep thawing it out but it will freeze back before it makes any ice. The water line is wrapped in a heater but I don't think that is a replaceable part. There is also insulation around the line but it seems to be in tact. I don't know how to go about fixing this problem. I have replaced the water valve

Hi Shawn,

I haven't worked on this model as of yet, but I did locate the service manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q70Fb1jY9GOqtRpx9GGpgYZjBahGPpM6/view?usp=share_link

I see a water tank heater and water supply heater in the service manual, but no part numbers for them.

Look at the parts diagram on Page 76, it shows the water tank #615A, Then 621B and 616K show to be the 2 water lines/couplings.

If you disconnect those john guest union connectors(couplings) does water flow out good before it goes up into the door?

The line that is freezing is the one going to the icemaker. I have thawed it several times but ti freezing back overnight. I can get water to the icemaker after I thaw out the line it just keeps freezing back. I can see a heater wrapped around the line but I am thinking I can't replace that part cause it goes inside the door. I have replaced the water valve thinking it was causing the problem.

After reading that service bulletin I am pretty sure the door would have to be replaced to fix this issue. I am sure the door is expensive. Thanks guys

Hi Shawn I have the same exact issue, what a crappy design! I have been troubleshooting this no ice issue on my LG LSXS62386S for 3 months. valves, pcb, ice maker and now I just heard an entire door has to be replaced.
Did LG get back with you on cost of a new door? I ohmed out the pins for the pipe heated and got 44 M ohms? does this mean the heater coil is just about gone?
Thanks in advance

I am going to call LG, do you think I will be able to get a door at that price?
I have troubleshot all the way to the pipe heater not working. I get 45 M ohms on the pins pointed out in the service bulletin.
