• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Can someone help me trouble shoot my microwave. I used my stove to heat up my apartment and the automatic fans went off and then my microwave shut off and wont restart. Do you think its the fuse? Or does anyone else know how to figure out this problem?

Hi,

I used my stove to heat up my apartment
Wouldn't a small heater be better?!

and the automatic fans went off and then my microwave shut off and wont restart.
Check the thermostats on the inside of the bottom/base....one is open and closes to turn on the exhaust fan if the bottom gets too hot...other is closed and will open to protect the microwave.
