Hello, I replaced the snubber ring on my Maytag MAV208DAWW everything went fine. After I put it back together the washer will not agitate . It will spin drain but when it try’s to wash/agitate. When it try’s the motor turns on and I can smell the belt slipping and it overloads the motor.
Thanks for the help!!

Hi,

It was agitating fine before you replaced the snubber?

If so, then you must have done something wrong when you replaced it. I've replaced lots of these same snubbers at Wards and Sears and never had that problem.

For this Maytag model it uses this snubber(Video Included):
WP21002026 Snubber Ring

Watch the video in the part link and do everything exactly the way he does it.

I watched that video when I installed the snubber ring and did everything just like it said. It seems like something is bad in the transmission, maybe just a bad coincidence .

Take the agitator off and take the belt off the transmission pulley, then see if you can turn the transmission pulley freely in the CLOCKWISE direction of where it should be agitating, have someone watch the agitator shaft while you turn the transmission pulley from the bottom.

If it still won't agitate, then yes its the transmission that's bad.

Here's the transmission for your model: Transmission 35-6615
