My Maytag Atlantis washer stopped spinning last week. It would still Agitate but wouldn’t spin. After reading some posts in this forum I changed out the thrust bearing. That worked the washer spins again. I am now washing a second load after the repair and it is starting to squeal. It squealed through the entire wash setting and the first spin but not the rinse or second spin. What could be the problem? Appreciate any help :) There was a lot of black dust on the ground when I lifted the washer. Read somewhere that that could be from the motor coupler? I couldn’t find that part anywhere. Could that be the cause of the squeal?
Thank you,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

It would be the belt you'd need to replace.

Here is the belt for your model you can order:

Ok, make a video of the noise with your iphone or android and upload it here in the .mp4 format.

Okay. Funny enough it hasn’t happened again and I’ve done three more loads. Maybe things were “settling in”? I’ll post if it happens again. Thank you for taking the time :)
