We have a Maytag Bravos model # MVWB700VQ0. The spin cycle wont work after the wash cycle, it just agitates slowly back and forth but wont spin. It will eventually show a sd code and have flashing lights around the dial. I have taken the washer apart including the tub and cleaned out any loose coin, etc. I have also taken out the pump to look for and obstructions. Finally, I replaced the rotor position sensor. None of this helped.

Any advise you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sd is displayed when the machine/motor control, by analyzing drag on the basket, detects a suds-lock condition, and is steady on while the control then runs a mini cleanout cycle. If the cleanout cycle is unable to correct the over-sudsing problem, the cycle ends and Sd flashes in the display. This may signify: Load is bunched, Excessive detergent usage or Mechanical friction on drive mechanism, not allowing motor to spin properly. Try running the diagnostic cycle and see if there are any more error codes.

Diagnostic cycle

Thank you for your quick response. We no longer have the papers on the washer. Could you tell me how to run the diagnostic cycle on this particular washer?

Again, thanks for your help!!!

Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off, or with only the Clean indicator on). Select any one button (except POWER, START, and PAUSE/CANCEL) and follow the steps below, using the same button (remember the button):

Press/Hold 3 Seconds>Release for 3 Seconds>Press/Hold 3 Seconds>Release for 3 Seconds>Press/Hold 3 Seconds

If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display. If indicators do not display, the press/hold/release procedure above may not have been performed within the time frame necessary for successful entry. Repeat step 2 to ensure this was not the cause. If there are saved fault codes the most recent fault code will be displayed and alternately show “F” and “XX” where XX is the fault code, and all the cycle selector indicators flash. If there are no saved fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, then turn back on with 88 displayed. After 5 seconds, the Automatic test begins.

Thanks again. Ran the test mode and it came up with a code of F71 and F82. Then ran the diagnostic cycle but it got stuck at C8 and would just agitate slowly back and forth while it sounded like the pump was still trying to release the water.

F-71 - Sd is displayed when the machine/motor control, by analyzing drag on the basket, detects a suds-lock condition, and is steady on while the control then runs a mini-clean out cycle. If the clean out cycle is unable to correct the over-sudsing problem, the cycle ends and Sd flashes in the display. This may signify:

➔ Load is bunched or twisted around agitator.

➔ Excessive detergent usage.

➔ Basket cannot engage during drain step.

➔ Mechanical friction on drive mechanism, not allowing basket to engage.

F-82 - dL flashes if the following conditions occur:

➔ Lid is not closed completely due to interference.

➔ Check for lock interference with lid or lock bezel.

➔ Wash media buildup is preventing the lock bolt from extending.

➔ Machine/motor control detects open lid switch when attempting to lock.

➔ Machine/motor control cannot determine if lid lock is in a locked state.

Lid switch check: In manual diagnostic test mode opening the lid should cause the Clean status indicator to turn off. Closing the lid should cause the indicator to turn on.

Lid lock check: Lid must be closed. If lid is not closed, an invalid button press beep will occur when performing next step. Press and release EXTRA RINSE. Lid locks and the indicator turns on. Press and release EXTRA RINSE again, Lid unlocks and indicator turns off.
