I have a Maytag Bravos XL washer which is just over 2 years old. I have an F7E5 error code, I have already disassembled and there is nothing under the wash basket. I have also replaced the shift actuator.
Before this repair the machine was stuck between sensing and wash.
Now the machine will sense, wash, rinse but it will not spin and after clearing the codes I still have an F7E5 error code.

Any help in what the next step would be is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Candie

What happens when it tries to spin? Does the motor hum but doesn't spin? Or does it try to spin and give up?

After it drains it skips right to done mode. Even on the clean cycle which is supposed to take 45mins it only runs until the first rinse and drain and then jingles and shows done.
Also in replacing the shift actuator we noticed there is grease spray all around the inside of the outer box under the unit.

I'm attaching the tech. data sheet below. On page 7 DO--->Clearing Fault Codes
To clear stored fault codes, enter Service Diagnostic mode. Then press and hold the 3rd button used to enter Service Diagnostic mode for 5 seconds. Once the stored fault codes are successfully erased, the seven segment display will show “888” and a beep will sound.

I know you said you already cleared the fault code once, but do it again, then--->After you clear the fault code DO--->A drain/spin cycle with NO CLOTHES in it and see if it spins.

F7E5--->Shifter Failure--->Fault is displayed when the main control determines the shifter is not engaging the basket for spin or disengaging it for wash.
• Check shifter connectors.
• Check for clothing or another item wedged between the impeller and the basket that could bind them together.
• Check that the shifter slider moves freely.
• See TEST #3a: Drive System – Shifter, page 15.
