FIXED Maytag Dishwasher Leaking at Heating Element MDB8959SKZ

Could this also apply to an older Maytag model with similar model number - MDB8958SBS0 ? I see it is not specifically listed in the technical service pointer provided here, but was wondering if there was an older TBP ?

I have a Maytag dishwasher with the *SBS* model number - Serial F31204* that is leaking water. I pulled the service baffle off the bottom and ran the unit to see if I could locate the leak. It is on the right hand side at the front and seems to be dripping on and flowing over a white panel 3x2" at the front right of the unit., in behind the door.

I do not immediately see it in the exploded diagram of the unit I found.

thoughts on whether it is the same issue as discussed here ?

Yours sounds like a different issue. The bad heating element leak is extremely obvious, as there’s nothing left of the flange that normally seals the element’s rubber washer to the tub.

I ran mine pulled out of the cabinet to verify, and saw the leak within seconds. Fill water just spraying into the tub was coming out of the left element hole immediately.

For those of you who had floor damage, did Whirlpool provide any compensation? I think I caught ours early though some of the wood flooring is still warped (which is how I thought to look underneath). The issue is, reading through the messages here, I'm not sure if we can wait 6 weeks for this to be rectified. Newborn and a toddler in the house. If it's unlikely that we'll get any compensation in that area, I figure I might just try to fix the issue myself...

Same here, only 18 months through, Maytag MDB9979SKZ0 caused water damaged. Heating element connection on the bottom, exactly as on the photos. A thousand dollars dishwasher didn't even make it to two years. Our previous one was working well over 7 years with no issues. Their customer support dropping chats and calls. They want $120 to take a look of where water is coming out.

Same thing happened to me we have a

Maytag MDB8959SKZ we noticed weird smell and sure enough leaking out the heating element spot. My solution I took the plastic nuts and cut In half and screwed half on the inside of tub with rubber washer and other half on the back side of tub to actually tighten against something. Has worked so far and this is how should of been done from the start.
