Maytag MDB7749AWB2 dishwasher has sometimes been cutting out mid-cycle (dishes seem clean, water in the bottom), and appears dead for 8-12 hours, then comes back. After that it can run drain cycle and new loads. A few months ago I replaced the thermal fuse/wire (W10258275), which seemed(?) to somewhat reduce the frequency of the problem but it has been getting more consistent failures lately.

The control board looks pristine, no evidence of part failures.

Hi Charles,

It sound like a problem in the control, but check all your wiring connectors on the control board to make sure none are loose.

Also check your main power junction box underneath the dishwasher, usually it's on the front right side in a small metal box with a screw holding the metal cover on, where your power comes into the dishwasher to make sure the wire nuts are not loose either.

Also look for a break or short in the wiring coming up from the wire harness where it goes into the door.

Also check your control panel ribbon cable to see if its loose or corroded on the end of it where it plugs into the control board.

If all looks good, then I'd order a new control board:
