Hi I have a Maytag Commercial grade electric dryer MEDP576KW which was shipped to a house in the Bahamas. I have owned it for less than a year and it gets used regularly. the power cord was directly wired.
Last month the house was struck by lightning - direct hit. I lost a few appliances but the Maytag dryer still runs. The problem is that the dryer no longer stops automatically, it will run indefinitely if not stopped. we tried it on all different settings, it doesn't stop on its own unless the door is opened. The damage was caused by a lightning power surge.
Are there parts on a Maytag dryer that tells it when to shut off/end of cycle that i (or the technician) can swap out? I am not familiar with appliance electronics.
It is a practically brand new dryer so would be shame (and expensive) to simply replace. any suggestions on parts to order would be appreciated. thanks -Tom
