The multimeter is new and the batteries are good.

I called technical support, the evaporator thermistor is less than a year old. They suggested testing it at room temperature. At either cold or room temperature I got the same readings.

So they will be sending me a replacement. Hopefully the thermistor was bad, and it just failed, otherwise tech support said it could be the control unit is bad.

Thanks Jake for your help, I really appreciate it.

For the last 19 months the refrigerator has bee working well, I had to set the unit on high to maintain the correct temperature. I have been experiencing water leakage in the refrigerator section. In the top of the refrigerator, next to the cooling tower there are two holes that lead to the freezer. The holes are covered with a styrofoam in the freezer, but this is where the water is coming from.

Last week the refrigerator started to run warm again. I tested the defrost heater and thermistor. The defrost heater tested OK. I got no continuity when I tested the thermistor.

I ordered a replacement thermistor, but what is causing the thermistor to fail?

How many times have you replace it already?

Where are you buying it at?

What did tech. support say last time?
