We have a Maytag Neptune Washer, Model MAH3000AWW. We began noticing what looks like oil (black liquid) in a puddle under the left rear of the washer. I took off the back panel and it's all over the inside back and what looks like a shock absorber. There is another one on the right rear that is clean. Is it an oil filled shock absorber? How difficult is it to replace? If not that, any other ideas on what is wrong?

There is no oil in these shock absorbers.
To see for yourself you can remove one from the washer by turning it a 1/4 turn. Once removed from the washer the two halfs will just pull apart.

Nothing in there but air. :)

Take a look around the center of the pulley in back.
Do you see a trail of oil/water coming out of the center and running down the tub?

No. The source seems to be something on the left side or rear. There is puddling on the floor of the unit, splattering on the left corner walls, and on the shock absorber in that corner.
