This morning I preheated my oven to 350 to bake a breakfast casserole. It seemed to preheat fine. Then after my casserole had been in for about 10 minutes I heard a noise that sounded like letting the air slowly out of a ballon. Then something that looked like steam coming out the oven top. I was going to a meeting so I took my casserole and finished baking it at my meeting. Once I got home I turned the oven back in to try to see if I could figure out what happened. I turned the preheat to 350. It finally reached it although it took quite a long time. I know something is wrong but would like to try to fix it myself instead of spending a fortune on a repair service. Any help would be appreciated. It’s only about 5 years old and it’s a Maytag electric stove.

Without a model number, we're dead in the water. Read it from the tag on the machine. Click here: Appliance Parts follow the link “How to find a model number”
