• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Help, I used my range as a ladder to get into the top countertop and put my knee through the center of the glasstop. I went to sears and they gave me a price of $350 + shipping and handling for the complete top. My question is.... can I just replace the glass? All the burners still work I just have shattered glass on top. Is there any value for the range somewhere or should I just toss it out? I bought it in march of 2005 from sears.

Thanks,

Hi,

This probably is the cooktop only, the cooktop comes with the metal frame and glass together without the elements.

Use your ranges model# to check on the price and maybe they may have a picture of the part as well.
