Side by side French style with freezer underneath. Sometimes when I try to get water it does nothing. Same with ice. This happens more in the morning. Thought the door sensor was intermittent because opening and closing sometimes fixes the problem but after putting in a new one same problem.

In the evening it might work every time for 10 straight times; seems completely normal for ice and water.

Then in the morning dead again.

I should add the lights inside the fridge work fine and the temp seems fine. Ice is being made always, just not dispensing. The control panel on the outside lights up fine but the light that turns on and off with the water dispenser doesn't come on at all when the water and ice aren't working but then comes on as normal when it is.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an intermittent door switch. The dispenser won't work if it thinks the door is open. Check it for continuity with your meter. Check between C and NO on the switch. Your meter should indicate less than one Ω when you press the switch in.

I didn't check but I did replace the door switch so it would have to be two intermittent door switches.

I'll check the old one

Thanks

Access the main control board behind the machine. Locate the J6 connector. Check for 12 VDC across J6-1 to J6-2. The same voltage should be measured on the dispenser board across J1-1 to J1-3. You'll need to do this when it stops working.
