Hello,

Maytag MSD2456GEB

My icemaker overflows a bit and often I have to break off excess ice to keep the levers spinning to dump the ice. A while back I had read to turn a small adjustment screw on the front to adjust the level. This seemed to help a bit but did not fix the issue completely. I am in the process of changing the main water inlet valve due to a leak unrelated to the ice maker. Here is the part I'm replacing - Water Inlet Valve 12001892. I had also read that a valve could be the cause of the icemaker overflowing. I believe there is second valve for the ice maker - Second Valve 61005626. My question is do you think replacing this second valve could fix my overflow issue? Or maybe just replacing my leaking main valve could fix this?

Main Valve I'm replacing -

Hi Tom,

Just the yellow one if its leaking.

The problem with the ice maker overfilling is over time the module circuit strip wears and tells the ice maker to overfill itself.

The problem is the ice maker telling the water inlet valve to overfill.

Here's the ice maker assembly for your model you can order:

There is a video in the ice maker part link that shows you "how to" replace it.
