Hi All,

I don't know the age of the washer. I bought it used.

Anyways, my Maytag MVWX600XW0 is acting up. When I plug it in, the lock engages, and sometimes the washer starts to spin without me pressing either the power or start buttons. Most of the time it immediately unlocks after starting the motor and the motor stops (not surprising considering the lock switch is in series with the motor), but sometimes the lock doesn't unlock and the motor just sits there spinning.

The only fault I'm getting is F1E2. When I try to do test #3b, I can't manually engage the lock. It just blinks and the Sense, Wash, Rinse, Spin, etc. lights blink a few times. Therefore, I can't manually run gentle or heavy agitation. To me, it sounds like the control board is shot. The only thing keeping me from replacing it is maybe it's the lock that's the issue?

Any help would be much appreciated!

F1 E2 MOTOR CONTROL FAULT

Here's another member with your same model and same error code from 2019:
I posted how to troubleshoot F1 E2 in post #2.

Here's the tech. data sheet for your model: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzvgAyLTSh14UjdKeG1ldDkwZzQ

F5 E3 would be the lid lock error code:
• Check for lock interference with lock striker.
• Main control cannot determine if lid lock is in an unlocked state.
--->You can do TEST #8: Lid Lock, page 18 to see if your lid lock is the problem.

But usually F1 E2 is a faulty Main control board, look here:

Excellent, glad to hear the control board fixed it.(y)

Thanks for the update!

Here's the control board for your model, in case others need it too:
