FIXED Maytag Washer MVWX655 extremely loud agitation

Loud noise during agitation. Wash plate was replaced about 2 months ago. Ran fine for a while but this noise just started up. No problems during spin cycle.

For future reference. This noise was caused by the washer drive pulley nut being loose!

Took a look underneath after posting this and realized the nut was damn near about to fall off. Saw some pastic shavings/dust from the loose nut. My guess is drive pulley was being shaved down

Excellent, glad you found the problem.(y)

I'd suggest going to your local hardware store and buy and apply loctite blue 242 threadlocker and re-tighten that nut to keep it from loosening up again.
