** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Brand: Magic Chef

Age: 6-10 years

My Magic Chef MC0160UB microwave has become possessed. It will start on it's own and run for 1:40, over and over about every 2-3 minutes. I have tried to cancel while running...nothing. I've opened the door while running, then canceled...nothing. I've unplugged it and let it sit for a while...still does it. The only way I can close the door and not have it do that is to put some "time to run" on it and leave it. Then it's ok. I know this sounds funny, and it is actually, except it isn't working properly. I thought unplugging it might reset it, but no. Thoughts? Fixes? Thanks
