Hey there. We're trying to troubleshoot our Maytag Dishwasher that is misbehaving.

The timer cycles but nothing kicks in. There are no regular sounds of the different cycles switching/engaging. Also, manually turning the timer to different cycles... It does not fill up with water, the drain cycle doesn't kick in, and heated dry does not get the element hot. We've tried choosing different options like "Pots and Pans" and "heat dry" with the selector buttons, but that made no difference. Thought maybe it was the timer. Picked one up, installed and got same results. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'd check both door switches for continuity first. If one or both of those door switches is bad, the dishwasher will not do anything.

Here's the door switch kit for your model:
Dishwasher door switches and holder assembly 99002254

When you click the link to that part, there are 2 videos, 1 for testing the switches, 1 for accessing them.

Thanks for the reply. So, if the door switch is bad the timer will still function and turn but won't start any of the cycles?

That is correct because you have two door switches, one can be bad and the other one not bad. Both need to be good for the dishwasher components to come on.
