Hello there, just found out about this forum and thought you guys might be able to shed some insight on my problem. I have a Maytag dishwasher that started leaking from under the tub on the front left side under the machine. It doesn't seem to be coming from the usual culprits: water inlet valve, the front door seal, etc. It's leaking out from behind the black soundproofing (? not sure if that's what it is) that is above the blue water inlet valve on the tub (inlet valve doesn't enter the tub here, it has a tube that runs up to the side). It leaks when I turn on the water valve that supplies the dishwasher. Doesn't matter if it's running or not and the tub can be empty. The water makes a slight hissing sound (so it's under pressure). I tried looking up the schematics but don't see anything there. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be?

Thank you for the help!

If the water is leaking from the water inlet valve when the water is on to it, then that is where the leak is coming from.

Here's the water inlet valve for your model you can order:

Hi Jake, thanks for the reply! I don't believe it's the water inlet valve as the valve doesn't contact the tub (doesn't show well in the photo I posted). A small black hose runs from the valve to the left side of the machine, where the water enters. The valve itself doesn't actually contact the machine except where it's mounted on a little suspended bracket. It leaks from under the black sound proofing, which is why I don't even know where it would be coming from. The leak is under pressure, which makes it weirder.

From what I understood is when you have water turned ON to the dishwasher it starts leaking without even the dishwasher running?

A thin hairline crack in the water inlet valve plastic can make it spray water on the tub, you see what I mean? I've seen that many times on my service calls.

Jake, I should have just listened to you. haha. For posterity's sake, I found the problem and it was as you said. There was a hairline crack on the top of the water inlet valve that created a highly pressurized but TINY stream of water. The water sprayed up onto the underside of the tub, which is why I thought it was leaking from under the soundproofing on the bottom of the tub. Nope, water inlet valve. Thanks for the help!
