maytag centennial electric dryer:
timed mode produces no heat. Timer dial is moving down, drum is spinning but no heat produced.
Automatic mode does produce heat.

Cleaned the heating element from dust, checked thermal fuse. All good.
Is that a timer issue?

That's basically all it can be since it heats fine in auto cycle.

To verify--->Unplug the dryer, then remove the back of the console so you can access the timer. Turn the timer to timed dry 40 minutes and check for continuity between the black wire on the timer and the red wire on the timer. If your meter doesn't show any continuity, replace the timer.
