I have an 8 year old Maytag french door refrigerator that has been driving me nuts for a couple months now. First noticed the display lights for the ice and water dispenser flashing and making a clicking noise. This went on for 2 hours then it just quit. No cooling in in the fridge or freezer, however the light inside the unit was still working. Moved everything to another fridge and just left that one alone. 2 days later the display starts flashing again and it seems like it wants to start back up and finally it comes back to life and is running fine. After 2 weeks of it running I decide to put my food back in it. Runs great for a month and then back to the flashing and clicking and finally quits again so i just unplug it. Last night i plugged it back in and after 30 minutes of nothing it began to slowly come back to life. I toook a couple videos of what it did.

It did that for about an hour and then just started working like there was never anything wrong with it.
Is this a control board that is on its last legs or and entirely different issue?

Hi,

Yes, its your main control board that's gone bad. You would need to replace it.

Here's the main control board for your model you can order:
Main Control Board WPW10310240

It ships to Canada, you also get a $60.00 credit on your credit card, when you return your old one.

There is a video in this link: https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=YO6223WzStY&mid=13810&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.appliancepartspros.com%2Fwhirlpool-board-hv-control-wpw10310240-ap6019229.html that shows you how to replace it.
