Working on a "Centennial" style Maytag Dryer (designed by Whirlpool). It runs and heats but randomly stops heating. If you open the door after it stops heating (it shuts down) then close the door and start it again, it will heat up until it stops heating another time. We replaced the timer to no avail. The coils are new. Everything Ohms out correctly.

Any advice? Could we have a bad Cycling T-stat that Ohms out correctly?

No, the cycling thermostat either ohms good or ohms bad(no continuity) there is no in between.

If the ignitor is coming on and the gas isn't coming out, then ohm the flame sensor(unplug the dryer first). Should read 0 ohms, take the wires off first.

Here's the flame sensor, it mounts on the side of your gas burner tube:

If your flame sensor tests good, then the problem would most likely be in the gas valve.

Here's the gas valve assembly for your model:

I located another thread that is doing basically the same as yours: FIXED: MGDC200XW0 Maytag only sometimes ignites first heat cycle then ignitor glows but no flame

And you can see on the 2nd page of that thread, the new gas valve assembly fixed his, His Maytag uses the exact same gas valve assembly as yours does.
