Mid wash cycle my unit froze up with all the lights on the control panel lit up. I unplugged it for a while but now it won't do anything.

I am trying to follow the service guide for no power:
1. Check that the washer is plugged into a working outlet and for blown fuses.
2. Verify that the plug doesn’t have two adapters attached to it.
3. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
4. Disconnect green connector (IF2) from the CCU.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check that there is voltage of 120v at the CCU terminals (IF2).
7. If no voltage is observed, unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Check that the connections of the power cord to the line filter
(white-neutral/black-line) and to the CCU (IF2) are not broken
or with wires detached.
9. Check continuity from the RFI filter connector to the CCU
(IF2 cavity connector).
10. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
11. Check for power going to Central Control Unit (CCU) by listening for a
click in the CCU when unit is plugged in. If no click, replace CCU.
12. Check the touch-pad/LED assembly by selecting different cycles and
changing the modifiers and options available to confirm the
touch-pad/LED assembly is responding.
13. Verify washer operation by running a Service History Mode & Diagnostic

Step 6 When I pull the green connector out and test it for power I read 120volts on that cable.
Step 11 There is a click when I connect power.

I tried replacing the washer Control Board where the display is (W10215450) but had the same results. Nothing lights up, no buttons seem to do anything and turning the dial does nothing.

Any idea what I should replace

Ok thanks for the help!

I am going to order another display board so see if that fixes it. Then I will order a CCU if needed.
I guess it is safe to assume that my CCU at least somewhat works since I can hear a click when I plug in the washer?

Yes, that's what it says per the tech. data sheet.

Well I got my second display board and had the same results just a click sound. So now I try the CCU board.

That's very strange, the tech. didn't really go into detail if you heard the click but the display still didn't work.

So it must be a bad CCU, also check the wiring at the CCU to make sure all the connectors and pins are on tight and secure, and look for ANY bad spots on ANY of the CCU wire connectors, and look for any metal pins that have backed out or are bent/not aligned properly that connect to the CCU.

Yes it is all very strange.
I did just take a look at all the wires around the CCU but did not notice any issues and all the connectors looked fine.

If this doesn't work I think I'll be out of options.

Ok, yes let us know how it goes.

Ok it was definitely the CCU that was the problem. I ordered the wrong part number by mistake but it must have been a close enough match as it was a exact fit and all the connectors fit in place.

Just to test I swapped the boards out and the display lighted up and it goes to all the different cycles.
I am not leaving it in as the setting for some of the wash cycles were not right.
I ordered the correct part and should be back in business soon.
All the signs pointed to a bad display board, who knew.

Thanks for all your help Jake.

Excellent, glad to hear the CCU was the problem.(y)

Thanks for the update!

I have 2 ccu and 2 display boards now and they all do the same thing. The second half of the display board doesn't work. Stuff like the water temp and extra spin. The timer works just fine and I move through the different cycles and the time changes but it doesn't show any information for the water temp ect.

Any idea on what would cause this? I didn't see any broken wires or loose connections. Maybe if I knew what wires I needed to check.
Does the MCU have any thing to do with this?

I don't think I can even enter diagnostic mode as the 3 buttons I am supposed to push (I think) don't do anything.

I am able to run a load and it seems all right as it fills spins washes and drains then does its super speed spin at the end.

Any ideas?

Yes WPW10525364 is what I received. I also have 1 close part number ccu and they both do the same thing and two different display boards that I tested all 4 and they all act the same. On the different wash cycles some are incorrect such as the quick wash is 74 mins while the normal was is 56 mins. None of the leds for temp or spin settings light up at all.

That is very odd.

Here's your tech. data sheet below. Look on page 2.

1. Press POWER on the touch-pad twice. 2. Check the touch-pad/LED assembly by selecting different cycles and changing the modifiers and options available to confirm the touch-pad/LED assembly is responding. 3. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 4. Make sure that all wire harness connections to CCU are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. 5. Drain the washer, and then check that the drain hose and drain pump filter are clear of foreign objects. 6. Plug in washer or reconnect power.

7. Verify washer operation by running a Service History Mode & Diagnostic Test or any cycle. See page 5

I can't change any modifiers and options because that's the part that doesn't work. I can't enter the service history mode because you need to input commands from the part of the keyboard that isn't working.
The wires and connectors all look fine. I would know how to tell if they were not working.

The machine seems to operate normally during the wash cycle but the super high spin the machine shakes more then normal

Yikes, I think we are dead in the water then, unfortunately. This is a very unusual problem, I would need to come to your house to spend lots of time on it checking each wire for a loose connection, because that's what it sounds like it is to me.

Yep I agree I am not wasting any more effort of this. I have no idea how to check for issues with the wires. It all was working fine before the boards gave out.
You win some you lose some. Time to return the parts and put that towards a new machine. Found an LG on sale for 695 vs 250 in repair parts seems like a no brainer to me.

Thanks for all your help Jake

Ok, yes I agree with your decision.
