Hi there, I have the above dryer and the timer knob is not cycling through the menu options , if I set it to optimum dry for example it just stays there and the dryer continues until i manually come along and open the door. I would appreciate any thoughts thanks.

Added correct model number

You have 2 different model numbers posted, RHD3SR37EH6WW and RHDSR37EH6WW neither of which pull up as good, take a photo of your model number tag located inside the door and upload it please.

Thanks, Put the timer on AIR DRY/NO HEAT and let it run with no clothes in it and see if the timer advances and make sure you feel NO HEAT in the dryer drum.

That means the timer is advancing fine.

Now do a TIMED DRY cycle and see if the timer advances to off.

Ok, then its possibly the moisture sensor, resistor, or thermostat that is causing this problem, unfortunately I can't locate the wiring diagram schematics for this model, Moffatt is only Canadian and very limited access to tech data sheets and parts online.

Unplug your dryer and you can look for your tech. data sheet inside the console and upload it here or scan it if you could please.

Hopefully @Dan O. might have it for this model.

I'm afraid i don't and can't even find a parts list for it. I did find a parts list for an earlier version model: RHDSR37EH2WW and found it's wiring diagram (attached) but no mini manual. I don't know its number nor where you'll get a copy other than inside the dryer itself. Sorry.

On it it shows the use of a 4500 ohm resistor for the 'auto' settings. If it was defective, the timer wouldn't advance on 'auto' settings only. You can see it at the following link.

LINK > GE Dryer Resister # WE4M255 (replaces WG04F02271)

That resistor in Canada subs to # WG04F02271 which looks to be discontinued here. The company linked above does ship to Canada though and currently has stock.

If the OP's dryer has one, they should test its resistance.

where do I go to take this apart please?

I haven't worked on one of those newer models but looking at that one parts list, it looks like the back panel might come off to access console components if yours is the same.

Sounds good.:)

Yes, Dan is correct. Thanks Dan!

Make sure you disconnect power to the dryer first before opening it up.
