I have the same issue with this machine Maytag MVW6200KW1. Bought unit in Feb 2021. The splutch wears out in 2-3 months and stops agitating.
This machine is a poorly designed piece of junk. I've had enough and will be replacing it. Will never by a Maytag or Whirlpool corp product ever again.
