I have a Maytag Centennial washer that will not complete a spin cycle. I do hear the motor engaging, and the pump is working. I started with replacing the actuator, but the issue persisted. The clutch components look fine when disassembled, but I did notice that the drive pully doesn't want to turn. I'm hoping it's not the transmission causing the issue now.

Does the tub turn freely by hand both ways?

Take the belt off the pulleys underneath the washer then turn both pulleys by hand both ways and see which one does not move freely.

That's what I did. It's the pully connected to the clutch. The one contact to the motor turns just fine. Would something specific cause it to not move as expected when taking off the belt?

Ok, got it! Then yes, the transmission has gone bad.

Here's the transmission for your model:

Its over $300 and out-of-stock everywhere.

Your machine was made in 2011, so you may want to buy a new Maytag as all the appliance stores are having their annual Labor Day Weekend Sale.
