I don’t know what’s going on with my washer model MVWC565FW2 I took the drain hose off, drained excess water and cleaned out hose and I thought it was fixed as the first time it was stuck on spin cycle. It reset and I ran a clean cycle now it’s stuck on sensing mode and making that awful noise again. It won’t let me put it in diagnostic mode. I pulled the hoses and the back where the inlets go in clean ones them all out and it still does the same thing. See video for reference, any advice is very appreciated.

It sounds like the drain pump impeller broke, unplug your washer and remove the drain pump and get a flashlight and look inside it and see if that impeller broke off the drain pump motor. I had this same model washer do this in my local area a couple years ago, and sure enough that was the problem.

Here's the drain pump for your model: Pump-Water W11399437

This video gives you the general idea of how to remove and replace it:

ALSO--->Make sure you get a container to catch water in, because once you remove the drain pump, water will start pouring out from the tub.

I could change the pump but the impeller looked good, I put it all back together after the first time not getting a good seal that was a mess. However 2nd time successful ran a cycle and it’s now stuck on wash cycle mode, doing the same thing. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Put it in a DRAIN/SPIN cycle only and see if the water drains out the drain hose fast.

I can’t even get it there. I turn the breaker back on the sensor light kicks on then makes that humming noise after I wait a min. If I leave it it will stop and the whole thing shuts off and won’t come back on if I hit the start button the sensor light flashes then after a min the humming noise starts.

Can you pinpoint where the humming noise is coming from?

Other than that, something very odd is going on and Its best to contact Maytag at 1-800-344-1274 and have a AUTHORIZED MAYTAG TECH come out, THEY HAVE THE MAYTAG FACTORY HOTLINE NUMBER, that they can call from your house to get them involved to see why this is happening.

when I have the back off it sounds like it’s coming from the pump area. And it’s leaking out the hose connector that goes in the back of the washer I’m going to get a new drain hose then put it back together and call in for a repair or get a new washer. Thanks for you suggestions.

Ok, glad to help.

From everything I research it shows that maybe a new drain pump might fix the issue, what do you think? I’m going to order and install I think before calling a fix it.

Yes, that's what I posted in post #2 above.:)

Well the impeller isn’t broke but you’re right about the drain pump I think something is definitely wrong with it

Yes, that's what it sounds like to me as well, even if the impeller is not broken, it can still be bad per the drain motor in the drain pump itself.
