I have a Maytag Bravos MVWX655DW01 and gradually over time the spin cycle shaking has gotten worse and worse. Now even with no clothes on a normal cycle the spin cycle will cause the drum to hit the inside of the washer. Its always on the right side. It is fairly level as far as I can tell. What do I look for?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

The problem is your suspension rods springs have worn out.

I had one do this exact same thing last year in my local area of Parker, Arizona and the new spring/rods kit fixed it for my customer.

Here's the suspension rods springs kit assembly for your model you can order:
W11130362 Suspension spring kit

It comes with complete instructions on how to replace them.

Last year I replaced the main circuit board, yesterday I replaced the water valve and now I need this suspension kit. I also noticed a small pile of powered metal under it when I was working on it. What does a small pile of powered metal under it mean? Should I replace the washer?

I don't know what that powered metal is underneath.

Its your choice to fix it or replace the washer. I really don't have a preference either way.

The average life of all appliances now is between 8-12 years.
