When the washer is filling for the wash cycle, it fills too high. the affect is that it does not wash/agitate properly because the clothes float above the agitator plate. I have searched and search and cannot seem to find any other reference to this issue. Some discuss overflow, but that is not the case here. And, apparently, a decent service manual and a parts location diagram is a well guarded state secret. Has anyone run into this problem before? I thought it may be a sensing switch or something, but I have no idea where it would be. Some of my research suggest it may be the inlet valves (supposedly they have some type of flow/fill sensor in them ). Maytag service desk did not provide any useful information. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:

I'm attaching your tech. data sheet below, lets check and see what FAULT/ERROR CODES you get.

Page 2 of your tech. data sheet do: ACTIVATING THE SERVICE DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODES

Then do FAULT CODE DISPLAY MODE on Page 3

Then you can see what fault code/codes you are getting on Page 6 and Page 7: FAULT/ERROR CODES
