Hi, so I have a 5-6 year old Maytag washer. I put a light load of towels in to wash, set it to a normal wash and pressed start. I was upstairs and heard the washer clicking, sound I never heard before. The washer was still in sensing mode, the drum would turn ever so slightly like it was trying to sense the load but the water kept coming in, watched this proceed until the washer was 1/4 of the way full with water and knew something wasn't right.

I held in the start to cancel the load and it drained perfect. Then I turned the dial to drain/spin to see if the drum would spin. The door locked, and it drained and spun a normal cycle smooth as can be until towels were dry. Everything seems to be working properly, what would be causing it to stay in sensing mode and not go through a wash cycle? Thanks for any advice I can get!

Hi, Usually it's the shift actuator that is the culprit.(there are videos in the threads below)

Your model uses the exact same shift actuator:
W10913953 Actuator

There is a video in the shift actuator part link that shows you how to replace it.
