My Jenn-Air JCD2389GES has been leaking water from the freezer for a while. My husband decided that it was the defrost drain that was clogged. I removed the panel on the back inside of the freexer, found the ice, removed the ice, and have been attempting to clear the drain for hours now. I can get a coat hanger down the drain alomst 4 inches, where I reach an obstruction (which very well might be then end of the drain). I have used boiling water, a turkey baster, and a hair dryer to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

Good job clearing your drain hole.

I always run something down the defrost drain hole, like a little roto rooter snake.

The one I use is a evaporator cooler spider snake: http://www.azpartsmaster.com/Products/Cooler-Spider-Snake__CLR4690.aspx

They are used basically in Arizona to clean out the water pump tubes that run to the cooler pads.

I don't know if they would sell them in your area, but if you go to your local hardware store, they should have something similar to run down your drain to clean it completely out.
