NE58F9500SS - Touchpad doesn't work

After a power outage, the blue LEDs (clock/temp) disappeared, but the touchpad buttons (timer/numbers/bake etc) still responded. We read everyone's solutions on here and installed a new control board (DE96-01027a) but that's created a new problem- The LEDs (clock/temp) show up now, but none of the touchpad buttons respond. They light up after we open and close the oven door, but there's no input from touching the display.

Now we gave up and put the original control board back in and suddenly the touchpad buttons no longer work with the original board replaced. However the LEDs now appear.
Can anyone help with this electrical puzzle?
 
That is very odd, have not run into that problem as of yet.

But it sounds like you got a defective display board, I show it no longer available from the factory, where did you find it at?

Replacement board was from Samsungparts.com

Is there anyway to work on getting the touchpad to respond? We didn't unplug anything more than the 3 connectors to the boards

Not that I'm aware of.

You have a very unusual problem, its best to Contact Samsung to come out to see what's going on. Contact Samsung at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864).
