Need help with a Bosch

I have a model SHU5306UC/U06

It fails to shut off. It does not drain. pressing buttons 2 and 4 simutaneously causes it to clear and drain. The cycle buttons do not seem towork properly. sometimes I will get a normal wash, sometimes it will come up rince and hold, therr is no predicting it. The delayed start alsoseems to have a mind of its own.It seems pretty clear that there is a problem with the circuit boards in the door. They may or may not be covered under the warranty, but the labor is not, $130 minimum.

So the question is, could there be some simple fix like a loose or corroded wire? Is there anything about this machine that is a common problem.

Can ther be any justification to spend a minimum of $130 on a five year old machine when a brand new one is three to four hundred dollars?

So that -should- mean the drain is clear and the drain pump is capable of working.

**They may or may not be covered under the warranty**

Most controls on a Bosch have a 5 year parts warranty.

Usually no. Have seen some of the tabs break off of the control but that cycle is dead as you cannot select it, never seen a bad wire on the control....yet!

Yup to all, and thank you for the reply.

The machine was made five years ago. So that is how long I have had it. The sales records are buried somewhere. I suggested that they just send me a part, but they declined. You are right about the Bosch prices, but why would I ever buy another one of them? Or a Maytag anything either, after the nonsense I put up with over their clothes washer. I am done with premium appliances. You just cannot beat Whirlpool. Tried and true. Good price, good performance, lasts a long time. Easy to fix. BTW, they once gave me a little leeway on a warrantee issue. Sears will cut you off exactly on the day of expiration. They just do not care, and will criticise you for not buying their extended warrantee. When I had a problem with a compactor that they had already fixed once, and it malfunctioned again shortly after the warrantee expired, they told me to go pound sand, in spite of the fact that I had bought over ten thousand dollars worth of appliances from them in the previous three years. Wanna guess how much of the two thousand on appliances I have spent since has been with them? BTW, I fixed the compactor myself. It turned out to be an improper repair by their repairman. I suggest you buy elsewhere and deal directly with the manufacturer if you have a warranty problem.
