Maytag are now apparently offering a kit (12002022 LIP SEAL KIT), but it also have a kit (12001478 LIP SEAL SVC ASSY.) I know 12001478 has extra sleeve inside, both are the same price, what about 12002022? Which one is the correct one?

Thats a very good question, I would go to your local appliance parts store and ask them, they would know for sure.

Maytag Neptune drum shaft bearings

Hi,

I have a 1997 MAH3000AWW. I am thinking of replacing the drum bearings and seal myself, without buying the outer drum assembly etc.
1/ is this do able ?
2/ would yoiu know where to get all the parts and at what cost ?
3/ any special advice or tools needed besides the service manual ?
4/ how to you get the old bearings out and the new bearings in ?
Thankyou very much in advance

The kit takes care of both... just match up old prts... the extra parts are for the new basket upgrade and rear tub that will take the other parts
