Came across this Frigidaire fridge that was frosting up throughout the freezer. Take the panel off the back wall, melt the ice build up, go to test the heater and defrost limiter. Only to find, there is no defrost limiter. Is it built in to the heater on this one?

I did a continuity test to the heater leads and it read 37ohms. Heater visibly looked ok. Everything else was working. I think the door was left open at some point to get frost all over the freezer. But what’s with this no defrost thermostat design?

5304522325 this is the heater. You can see the wiring has like a padded section. I wasn’t sure if that is replacing the limiters.

I don't have the tech data sheet on this model, so I don't know what the defrost thermostat should ohm test at.

Ye, I’m used to just listening to the beep on my meter for heaters. But I guess this I have to take a reading because the thermostat is in the wiring.
