Can anyone help identify what might be causing this noise? This is by far the loudest part of the wash and happens for several minutes at a time. It happens at least three time during every wash...spent good money for a quiet wash and this noise is ruining the silence. :). Any help is greatly appreciated

It sounds like its just washing in the wash cycle, sounds like water splashing in the tub, which is normal.

What happens if you open the door when it makes that sound?

Jake

I hear it too and saw the same issue in the other thread here with no real resolution other than it sounds normal. Mine is the KDTM604KPS.
My theory is that it is the rods on the bottom of the third rack "rotating wash jets". There are gears on the back of the shelf that must be driven by water pressure my guess is that's causing this noise. I wonder if it can be solved with some type of lubricant.

I never had that bad buzzing sound, just the squeaky sqishing which is definitely the third rack rods. Luckily, mine quieted down after a few loads.

is it this sound?
Mine is making this same noise
Model KDTM604KPS what is the fix for this? Its supposed to be a 44 db dishwasher. But it doesn't do it all the time. Is it the gears on the back of rhe third rack? Can you put some kind of lubricant on it that wouldn't get all over the dishes?

Did anyone ever answer you on this question? I'm having the same issue.

I know exactly what and makes that sound, but I can't figure out why it does. Its that little wheel with the fins on it on the back of the gear box. Take it off and it won't make that noise, from what I can tell it has no real purpose that I can think of the tubes still spin without it. Does anybody have any other thoughts

Hi Jim, I haven't had training on this model, it has that added feature I've not across in any of my customer's homes as of yet.

Here's the parts diagram: You are referring to number 11, 12, and 13?

Do you see that finned wheel on the back side of #11 that makes a whining noise that i have found mine making. I have no idea what it does i removed it from mine and I dont have that sound anymore. If you can figure out why it is there to begin with please let me know.

I don't know either Jim, this is a newer design I've not had training on to know the answer to that question. Sorry.

You will be the first to know.:)
