Rick,

So the answer to your question is No, it does not get red hot (or even change color at all) after attempting to initiate the Bake function.

Oh, and it also looks to be covered in an almost black carbon residue on the outside of the metal frame for the ignitor. May be inconsequential, but just in case it matters. The one I saw in the repair video didn't look as dark as mine. FYI

You can check the igniter for continuity or you can check the voltage going to the igniter when set to bake. Here's how:
Igniter Volts.jpg

This is the Samsung igniter for your range:

This is a Whirlpool igniter and basically the same igniter. I'll let you make the call:

Hi I have a Samsung NX58H5650WS free standing range, we had thunder storms last night and now the complete display flickers and it beeps constantly.
I disconnected the stove for a couple of minutes and it didn't work it is still doing the same thing. Is my control board fried?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a samsung gas stove. The manual shows four model numbers, NX58F5500SS, NX58F5500SB, NX58F5500SW, and NX585300SS. I can not find a model number anywhere on the stove. The problem is that the keypad has been gradually accepting less and less commands, now hardly anything works. My stove is all black, four burner with the long burner in the center. We bought it in Dec of 2014 This may have not been the right spot to post but I couldnt figure out how to make a new post.

I have a NX58H5600SS/AA gas range. Recently the display panel completely went out. No display and none of the buttons work. However, the range top still lights. Do I need to replace the display or board. Thanks

Hello,

Still having an issue with my Samsung gas oven. Model number is: NX58H5600SS/AA

The display works completely fine on the oven. INITIALLY. Right after selecting Bake, Broil, Roast, etc, selecting a temperature and clicking start. You can not turn the oven OFF. You can select a timer and that is it. The rest of the display is completely not responsive.

Please help! Thank you!
