Hey Team! Love this forum and finally have a question to ask :D

I have an ancient admiral fridge that I've been using as a kegerator. Ther thermostat seems to have just gone, as it stays on all the time and freezes water regardless of the dial position.

Upon replacing the AC cord I noticed this box that the compressor plugs into. The compressor shares a positive lead and there is another lead that goes under the fridge.

Since this means the compressor runs on unregulated AC, I was wondering if I could simply bypass the built in thermostat by installing an inkbird controller, and wiring the compressor directly into the cooling circuit?

Any thoughts? Thanks!
