Old Dacor cooktop model GGC365 - 3 out of 5 burners won't stop "clicking" after igniting

Hi everyone,

I am trying to fix a roughly 20 years old Dacor cooktop (Model GGC365 or GGC365W, Serial 951599) that has 3 out of 5 burners keeping "clicking" after igniting. The other 2 burners are fine, they ignited the flame and then stopped clicking. The 3 in question keep making the clicking noise. I'm thinking it might be a problem with the spark module or spark igniter? Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you.

3 out of 5 burners keeping "clicking" after igniting.

That could be due to poor flame nearest the spark electrode, a dirty spark electrode, the spark electrode insulator cracked allowing it to spark to part to a different part of the range rather than the burner (try watching in the dark with the lights off to see where the spark goes), the burner head not grounded properly or a problem with the spark module.


I couldn't tell you how to actually test for any of those conditions unfortunately, besides just visual inspection.
