Hello! I have an old maytag LAT9824AAL top load washer. Fills, spins and drains fine. No burning smell, agitator teeth are fine, able to manually turn transmission from underneath, clicks through the cycles but just doesn’t wash/agitate when the wash cycle comes on.

I believe the problem is electrical and when the timer gets to the wash cycle the on switch somewhere doesn't make the connection.

I have never worked on a washer before and would appreciate feedback. Thanks!

Hi,

Fills, spins and drains fine.

After the water stops filling the washer is dead instead of agitating?
Timer starts to advance/move?

Make sure the push in buttons are actually selected and not flush.

If after the water stops filling the timer is not moving/advancing the WLC/pressure switch is suspect, but yours is now NLA.
If after the water stops filling the timer is advancing but no agitation and the motor is not running, the timer is then suspect.
